Universal Connector
Universal Connector

The idea for this project was first formed when I was at TU Delft in the Hyperbody Research Group. As part of my design project, I needed to create a space that transitioned smoothly between several openings at unique orientations. In the end, I ended up solving the problem by modeling the surfaces by hand, but I wondered exactly what information was need to define a surface that bridges between any number of arbitrary openings. That thought developed into my first RhinoScript exercise at KPF, the universal connector, which then became a furniture design study for Jackson Square.
