The Computation Group was asked to develop patterning and geometry schemes for a large tower’s podium.  The original form given to us had distinct side a roof geometries.  As the goal was to create a unified pattern, for my favorite proposal I chose to create a smooth form based on a conic section swept along a circle.  This very simple geometry and an equally simple UV subdivision gives a dramatic and seemingly complex result.
